Tomorrow`s Food Travel (TFT)

Call for papers

Tomorrow’s Food Travel (TFT) conference, 8-10 October 2018, Centre for Tourism, University of Gothenburg, Sweden

Tomorrow’s Food Travel (TFT) conference welcomes scholars, practitioners and experts from all over the world. The conference offers a great opportunity for academics and stakeholders in the food and beverage tourism field to meet to exchange their research, ideas, and experiences.

TFT is co-organized by the Centre for Tourism at the University of Gothenburg, West Sweden Tourism Board, Visit Sweden (National Destination Management Organization), and Gothenburg and Co. (Local Destination Management Organization).
There will be an academic and a business/policymaker conference running in parallel. Some workshops and labs involving all attendees (practitioners, researchers, policymakers and tourism boards) will be held jointly, to allow participants to collectively elaborate on common relevant issues. Social events (dinners, coffee breaks, trips) will be shared together as well.
The conference format fosters an unprecedented opportunity for academics in the field of food and beverage tourism to connect with peers sharing similar research interests, as well as with wider industry and policymaker stakeholders, favouring reciprocal knowledge and maximizing exchange and potential cooperation opportunities.

The Scientific Committee welcomes theoretical and applied research contributions in the form of extended abstracts (1200-1500 words). The extended abstracts should be submitted to TFT2018@handels.gu.se  by 1st April 2018. Abstract submisson deadline has been extended to 15th April 2018.

The conference is held in English. All accepted contributions need to be presented at the conference by at least one of the authors. All submissions will be peer reviewed prior to the event.
All abstracts submitted and accepted will be included in the Book of Abstracts, which will be shared with conference participants.

The overarching conference focus is on current and future trends in the food and beverage tourism field.

The conference themes can address multiple topics, and some examples are offered in Figure 1.
